Reading Buddhist Priory was founded in 1990 as a temple in the Serene Reflection (Soto Zen) tradition of Buddhism. It is part of the Order of Buddhist Contemplatives.
At the core of the practice of Soto Zen is serene reflection meditation.
It has the potential to bring beneficial change, once a true intention has been aroused.
A warm welcome is extended to you.
The Priory Sangha consists of men and women in the Reading area and S.E. England who practice Soto Zen Buddhism through finding the Priory and/or Throssel Hole Buddhist Abbey. There is a core of long-term practitioners. They are supported by the resident Prior Rev Gareth Milliken.
